Footprint is developed in partnership with one of Canada’s premier engineering firms: Smith + Andersen. While Footprint has its headquarters in Toronto, it is set up to handle projects around the country, taking full advantage of the resources offered through Smith + Andersen’s seven offices across Canada.

Lyle has more than 15 years experience in sustainable design and development, and facility management. During that time, he has played a leadership role in the industry, having served as a founding board member of Sustainable Buildings Canada and held numerous positions within the Canada Green Building Council.

Dan Larson

Dan Larson P.Eng, LEED AP BD+C

Associate Principal

Dan has integrated sustainability into almost a decade of mechanical engineering work with Smith + Andersen, where he has acted as the firm’s leading sustainability advocate. He became LEED accredited in 2004 and has overseen LEED implementation on a series of major projects. While Dan champions sustainability, he believes the right solution balances a range of objectives.

Kevin Farbridge

Kevin Farbridge P. Eng., LEED GA


As a Principal with Smith + Andersen since 1995, Kevin has managed many of the firm’s technically complex projects. His leadership has helped increase the firm’s focus on sustainability and high performance buildings, culminating in the initiative to launch a separate sustainable design firm – SA Footprint – to expand S+A’s role in this critical field of knowledge. Kevin plays a key hands-on management role with Footprint.
