(TORONTO, CANADA) June 25, 2021 – In celebration of the sustainability company’s ten year anniversary, Footprint donated $100 per staff member to Forests Ontario – a not-for-profit organization focused on tree planting, forest stewardship, forest education and awareness. The $2700 donation reflects Footprint’s ongoing corporate commitment to supporting organizations that promote sustainability in the Canadian construction industry.
A proud member of the Smith + Andersen Group of Companies, Footprint’s foundations lie in technical expertise gained from a proven consulting engineering firm. Since its inception, Footprint has expanded many times over, with staff in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Kitchener, and Ottawa. They have the highest number of certified Building Energy Modelling Professionals on staff, and work collaboratively on landmark developments across the country.
“I’ve never been more excited about where we’re going as a team,” says Founding Principal Lyle Scott. “Coast to coast we’re winning, and guiding the sustainability of, massive projects – from St. Paul’s Hospital Redevelopment in Vancouver, to the Library and Archives Canada Gatineau 2 Preservation Facility in Quebec.”
Both Smith + Andersen and Footprint have proudly supported Forests Ontario over the past decade, with proceeds from their annual industry event, Eco Jam, going to the non-profit organization. This ongoing support is a reflection of the importance of trees to the construction industry, as well as the support of wood as the greenest building material.
