After years of anticipation and two years of construction, the expanded Milton District Hospital achieved substantial completion today. The 330,0000 sf addition was completed over a tight design-build schedule, and was completed on time and on budget. With full access to the expansion, hospital officials are now preparing the new space for occupancy, with the move-in date set for Sunday, October 1st.
To align with the vision of the Milton District Hospital Project and core principles, the Plenary Health project team has made every effort to encourage responsible, sustainable design for the MDH Project. Plenary Health and Halton Healthcare Services Corporation were keen to design, construct, and operate a high performance, environmentally responsible building which provides the highest quality indoor environment for the occupants.
The design for Milton District Hospital addresses climate and site specific design issues, particularly pertaining to water re-use and efficiency, energy performance, and robust and dependable systems. As a result, the proposed strategy will be targeting a LEED Silver certification level.
